Special Notes

1.  Tau is the nineteenth letter in the Greek alphabet.

2.  Tau is a dental consonant. Its phoneme is formed with the tip of the tongue behind the upper teeth. The English "t" is aspirated if it is at the beginning of a word; Greek makes no such distinction.

3.  Tau's lower case letter never has the top stroke below its top like the English letter "t."

4.  Tau is transliterated as "T" and "t."
