See and Say the Greek Alphabet By this time, you should know most of the Greek letters and their alphabetical order. The pronunciation of each Greek alphabetical letter is learned by proper pronunciation of its alphabetical name. Click on any letter and hear the alphabetical name pronounced twice by the instructor. Notice that each new line begins with a vowel that corresponds to the English vowels "a", "e", "i", "o", and "u".
Color code for the above letters: 1. All vowels are in this color. A a, E e, H h, I i, O o, U u, W w 2. All labial consonants are in this color. B b, P p, F f 3. All nasal labial continuant consonants are in this color. M m, N n 4. All palatal consonants are in this color. G g, K k, X x 5. All dental consonants are in this color. D d, Q q, T t 6. All compound-continuant consonants are in this color. Z z, C c, Y y 7. All liquid-continuant consonants are in this color. L l, R r 8. The single sibilant continuant consonant is in this color. S s For more practice, read the alphabetical letters with the instructor. Begin to associate the letter with its Greek spelling. The spelling for each alphabetical letter is written first in all capital letters, then with only the first letter capitalized, and finally written in all small letters.
